Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups shredded cooked chicken
  • 1 cup shredded cheese cheddar or Mexican blend
  • 1/2 cup salsa or pico de gallo
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 12 small corn or flour tortillas
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Salt to taste

Method
 

  1. Prepare the filling by mixing chicken, cheese, salsa, cumin, garlic powder, and salt in a bowl.
  2. Warm the tortillas to make them pliable.
  3. Take a tortilla, spoon about 2 tablespoons of filling onto one end, and roll tightly.
  4. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Fry the taquitos seam side down until golden and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  6. Remove the taquitos and place them on paper towels to drain any excess oil.
  7. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces, such as salsa or guacamole.
