Decadent Cheesecake Brownies for Any Occasion

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 large egg for cheesecake layer

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking pan.
  2. Melt butter in a medium saucepan over low heat.
  3. Mix in granulated sugar and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly before adding eggs.
  5. Add eggs one at a time, stirring well after each addition.
  6. Sift together flour, cocoa powder, and salt; fold into the mixture.
  7. Set aside the brownie batter and prepare the cheesecake layer.
  8. In a separate bowl, beat softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and 1 egg until smooth.
  9. Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan, followed by the cheesecake mixture, then top with the remaining brownie batter.
  10. Use a knife or skewer to gently swirl the batters together.
  11. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  12. Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan, then cut into squares.
